WHAT'S THE SITE ABOUT?

This website offers free resources, support and hope to martial artists experiencing mental health difficulties, to understand the roots of your problem, as well as the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that may be maintaining these problems.


WHY?

Martial arts can be an effective way to improve your mental health. If this coping mechanism is no longer accessible due to injury or some other reason, you may be susceptible to developing mental health problems. 

HOW CAN THIS WEBSITE HELP ME?

ANXIETY

Martial arts offer a safe environment to express the fight, flight or freeze response.

DEPRESSION

Martial arts help build self-esteem and give structure, discipline and meaning.

TRAUMA

Martial arts allow expression of emotions like anger linked to difficult memories.

- We offer resources to help you understand how difficult memories have affected the way you see yourself and others, as well as how memories are triggered now.
